Every time Wideman has been scheduled for a parole hearing, we have reached out, requesting letters of support for our cause be sent to the parole board. The response to that request has been phenomenal! Over the course of all the hearings, almost two thousand letters have been submitted.
Since the Board meeting on December 3rd was not a regualr parole hearing, we did NOT think letters from our supporters would be considered appropriate as they have been in the past. Now that Wideman is having another parole hearing on July 16th, we are asking you to help us by writing a letter of support.
All letters should be addressed as follows:
Mina Mendez – Chair
Arizona Board of Executive Clemency
4000 N Central Avenue
Suite 2300
Phoenix, AZ 85012
Even though the letters should be addressed as shown, we request that the letters be sent electronically to weremembereric@gmail.com. Instead of the letters going to the Board individually, where they could get misplaced, we will put all the letters bound into a book, with a copy sent to each Board member. This way, they will not get misplaced, and they will have a much greater impact.
In order for us to make copies, assemble the books and get them to the Board members so that they have time to read them, we need to have your letters no later than July 1st.
The letters should express your thoughts, with any comments about Eric, if you were fortunate enough to have known him, as well as your feelings about the horror of what Wideman did and why he should remain in prison.
If you have any questions or want to contact us, please write to weremembereric@gmail.com.
Words cannot express how much we appreciate your support.
